who were older, bigger and stronger. The irony of it was that this was
supposed to be a superior school and my parents were paying it! All I
could do was wonder how the hell this happened. Grammar school;
junior high; and now high school. When was this going to end? Was this
what high school was going to be like? A continuation of the s*#t-fest
that was grammar school and junior high? I was really demoralized.
It was time to take a stand. That night after the bus episode with the
upperclassmen I told my parents I was not going to that private school.
I stood up to them and refused. To my great relief they agreed and
actually supported my decision. I never went back. I went to public high
school and never regretted my decision.
Things hadn’t gone well that summer, but I was absolutely determined
to make some changes. I had had enough. No one was going to do this
to me again. I had MOTIVATION and a GOAL.
