born in Victoria, British

Columbia, Canada, but
inherited ‘travelling DNA’ from
her sailor father which has led
to a life of work and travel
around the globe

Dawn is the author (and sometimes illustrator) of 15 children’s picture books.
She is a certified Canadian audiologist and teacher of English as an additional
language. Dawn's first job teaching was in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia followed by
four years in Yaoundé, Cameroon. Now back in Canada, she travels to small
Inuit villages once again to provide hearing services to the people of the

Canadian north. Many of her books have been inspired by the children she
has worked with as an audiologist and ELL teacher.
