Jessica has published an impressive 17 books so far, two of which were written
and illustrated by her daughters.

What has your journey been liked?
"My journey as an author has not been easy but I have learned so much and
made so many new friends along the way. I love writing stories so no matter the
obstacles, I will continue to write stories that will bring families together to read."

What advice can you give to those thinking of becoming an author?
"For anyone wanting to be an author, the best advice I can give is to write your
story down and don't worry what others will think. Write from the heart and have
fun. Then connect with other authors to learn the next steps in the publishing
process."

Children's Literacy is important. What message do you have for kids?
"My message to kids is to read every day. If you do not have access to many
books, try to visit your school or local library. If that does not work, try asking
your parents or trusted adults to set up a little free library in your community.

What's next?
"I am currently working on a story about a plain little unicorn which will be
illustrated by my teen daughter."

Jessica has visions of The Underground Toy Society travelling around the world, creating
books that will help teach children to appreciate what they have, and to think of those that
may not have as much when cleaning up their rooms. Jessica's two daughters are the
inspiration for the books, as well as co-illustrators for many of the books.
