1. What inspired you to become an author?
My passion for writing comes from years of reading children's books in my personal and
professional life. I am grateful for the opportunity to help children learn to use their
imaginations to embark on make-believe adventures. My books will teach children lifelong
values and inspire them to be anything they choose.

2. How many books have you written and what genre/s and what age group?
The Power of... is a series of children's picture books for ages 4-8. The series includes:
The Power of Positivity, The Power of Kindness, The Power of Gratitude and The Power of

Empathy.

3. With all the chaotic and conflicting world issues, what message do you have for
kids?
Kindness matters. Kindness is more than behavior. It is an act of being. Being kind to others
and yourself can make such a difference. It is often simple, free, positive, and healthy.
Kindness increase self-esteem, empathy, and compassion and improves mood. One way to
start your day is to ask yourself, "How am I going to practice kindness today?"

4. What are you working on now, and if another book, when do you plan to launch it?
I am focusing my attention on marketing. One of the many challenges with children's book
is, you're marketing less to the child and more to the adults around them. As an author, you
have to appeal to both.

5. How can readers, parents, and teachers reach you?
I can be reached through my website www.ruthmaille-author.com where you will find a lot of
information, free resources, books and more.

The Power of Positivity: The ABCs of a Pandemic. Even though
we are coming out of the pandemic, we need to remember and focus
on the positive things that happened and how the world went
through it together. This book is an excellent SEL tool and a starting
point to help children talk about how they are feeling.

The Power of Series has earned multiple awards which include: Purple Dragon Grand
